Respect & Care for the Birthing Passage| Meet Aurora & Zerah

Join us on Saturday March 15 for a meet and greet with Aurora and Zerah where they will share an intro to traditional postpartum care: what it is and why it matters. Aurora and Zerah present a series of workshops that dive into the 4 pillars of traditional postpartum care: rest, nourishment, touch and plant medicine. They share their knowledge from studying traditional Ayurvedic and Meso-American postpartum practices, and from their experience as postpartum doulas and mothers. Postpartum traditions around the world are unique but guided by similar principles of care for the innate transformation that is childbirth and postpartum. We look to these traditions to remember how to provide care for our families, friends and community members. Knowledge of how to care for new parents and babies was once woven into the fabric of communal life, but we have largely lost touch with these traditions on a cultural scale. Our dream is to return this knowledge to the family and community, so that every birthing person can receive this level of care. This is a free event, open to people of all genders. Especially relevant for soon to be parents and those who care for them, birth workers, and anyone in the community who wants to learn how to provide a deeper level of care to the new parents in their life. 20 participants max.
